Lokale Agenda 21-Projekte und ihre Wirkungen. Evaluation und Einschätzungen
In order to bring Sustainable Development („Agenda 21“) into reality manifold goaloriented activities are necessary. This challenge is still insufficiently met, and the average „realpolitik” shows that the traditional solutions are not able to reduce or even eliminate the manifold local and global problems. Since Sustainable Development asks for holistic and deep changes on all levels of human relations and their interaction with nature, today’s steps are only small although important. This holds especially for communities and their Local Agenda 21-processes (LA 21). In this report the relevance of projects is highlighted (lead projects), especially those almost 100 which have been supported by the Project
Agency Sustainable Berlin since 1999 with money from the lottery foundation. In the central (2.) section an external evaluation of many of those projects is presented. It shows that more than 40.000 citizens have been reached by the projects, that participants became qualified and that additional financial sources were collected. That means, manifold resources of different types have been mobilised via the invested grants! In the third section perspectives of LA 21-activities are discussed and specific recommendations for the Local Agenda 21 in Berlin formulated.
