Tools and Methods
The IZT uses up-to-date qualitative and quantitative methods of causes, consequences, evaluation and prospect research. Main concern of research are the complex connections between influential factors of political, technical-economical, ecological, social and cultural subsystems. From that we develop scenarios of possible and desirable futures.
The IZT works along a systematic-evolutionary approach. In principle projects are user-orientated and practice-based. The work spectrum of IZT features: Future scenarios, Assessment of technological effects, Technology evaluation, Technology design, Benchmarking, Service-Engineering, LCA - life cycle analysis, Feasibility studies, Accompanying research, Evaluation studies, Surveys of potentials, Market introduction concepts, Future labs.
