Welche Zukunft wollen wir haben? Visionen, wie Forschung und Technik unser Leben verändern sollen. Zwölf Szenarios und ein Methodenexkurs

During the last years normative narrative scenarios have been used increasingly to sup-port discourses in innovation processes. The twelve scenarios presented have been ela-borated in the years 2002 to 2008 in the context of strategy programs of the German Ministry of Education and Research and/or the モHigh-Tech Strategyヤ of the Federal Government. They cover a broad spectrum of application fields, reaching from bionics and biological engineering over learning worlds and knowledge processes up to preven-tion, security and product design using customer integration.
The presented scenarios are thoroughly designed and nevertheless very descriptive nar-rated pictures about everyday life in possible futures. Primarily they are targeting the participatory goal formation: „Which future do we want?モ Therefore they connect in their respective range of application technical possibilities with aspects of social desira-bility. Thereby they donメt claim normative generality, but are meant to provoke thinking about and discussion of design and development alternatives.
Besides the scenarios this edition contains a methodological appendix that describes, how normative narrative scenarios can be generated using group processes and quasi literary methods and how they subsequently can be analyzed - likewise in a group set-ting.
