  • Friederike Ruge joined the IZT in April 2021 as a junior researcher in the research field "Mobility & Urbanity". She first completed her Bachelor of Ethnology and Hispanic Studies at the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen and subsequently her Master of Social and Cultural Anthropology at the Freie Universität Berlin.
  • Prior to her position as a junior researcher, she worked in the field of internationalisation and science communication at the IZT. She was responsible for planning internal and external workshops and has in-depth knowledge of online moderation using relevant tools. She also managed the Institute's social media channels and external communication and is experienced in editing texts of all kinds as well as image and graphic design.
  • Due to her regional focus, she spent extended periods in Latin America as part of her studies and work. For example, in 2019 she completed a 6-month internship in Human Resources and Interior and Exterior Design at Volkswagen de México. She also has several years of experience in the field of non-governmental organisations, especially in project and office management.
  • Friederike Ruge contributes distinctive intercultural expertise due to her many years of experience abroad. Her studies in social and cultural anthropology taught her the basics of qualitative social research, which she applied successfully and emphatically in her fieldwork.
