Overview

IZT evaluates the German National energy efficiency label for old heating installations with respect to its goals, impact and cost effectiveness. The institute carries out an ex ante, accompanying and ex post evaluation.

With the label, consumers are informed about the efficiency status of their old heating installations. The goal of the German Federal Government is to increase the replacement rate of old, inefficient facilities and to save energy in this way. While efficiency labels exist for numerous newly purchased products, the National energy efficiency label for old heating installations is the first label in Germany given to products in use.
