Internal crowdsourcing in companies

So far, crowdsourcing has been seen as an innovation strategy to use ideas outside of a company to assist with a specific issue. The project “Internal crowdsourcing in companies” will examine to which extent hidden potentials within a company can be discovered and utilized. The focus will be on the fair design of internal crowdsourcing (IC) for employees, the digital participation of employees in company processes via the crowd as well as the creation of new qualification opportunities through crowd work. The Berlin energy service provider GASAG wants do adapt the scientifically developed model to their own application context, test it and further develop it into a good-practice-model for IC in the service sector. The final product should be a cross-sector reference model.

Overview

Work package and approach of the IZT
In the project network, the IZT – Institute for Futures Studies and Technology Assessment is responsible for the core concept "qualification and further training", as all teams that form as a result of internal crowdsourcing should be offered customized competence promotion. To facilitate this, the IZT will conduct interviews with employees and management to raise expectations and demands of new qualification practices through IC. The results of these interviews will build the foundation for scenario workshops with these stakeholders. The results of these workshops will be used to develop a mutually negotiated solution.
