Abstract
In 2008, the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) launched the "Energy Efficient City" competition, through which the cities of Delitzsch, Essen, Magdeburg, Stuttgart and Wolfhagen received awards in 2011. They are implementing their concepts together with partners from science and practice. This publication series documents the approaches and results. This seventh volume focuses on the possibilities of innovative services for implementing the "energy-efficient city". Based on the findings of service research, current practical examples and experiences from all the competition cities are presented. In their entirety, they show concrete starting points in different fields of action for municipalities of all sizes and highlight exemplary challenges associated with them.
