Digital Transformation in the Global South: Transatlantic principles for value-based cooperation
When it comes to digital development cooperation, the USA and the EU usually pursue different approaches - but there are also similarities. In a short study, a team of experts from the US and the IZT, in cooperation with the German Development Institute (DIE), analysed the common principles and outlined the needs of partner countries in the Global South. With its digital geopolitics, the European Union is pursuing a regulatory approach that prioritises data protection and privacy and harmonises innovation and market orientation with the premises of sustainable development.
