bio:fictions. Co-creative design fictions of bioeconomy

How can we approach the complex issues of the bioeconomy in new, unexpected ways? Through innovative methods such as "design fictions"! The "bio:fictions" project wants to develop these in various workshops. Afterwards, these fictions will be brought to the public and initiate a dialogue be-tween innovators, stakeholders, influencers and their communities.

The bioeconomy is a dynamic field of innovation. It is considered to have a high potential for overcoming economic, social, and ecological challenges. However, due to the large number of actors and challenges, there is no uniform vision. Since the future of the bioeconomy can therefore only be thought of in plural, there is a need to translate the diversity of (un)possible and (un)desirable visions of the future into narratives, imaginaries, and experiential imaginative spaces. With their help, the diverse, sometimes divergent bioeconomic futures are made perceptible, comparable, and discussable.

The aim of the project is to describe future visions of the bioeconomy with the means of design fictions in order to stimulate and moderate a critical discourse between innovators and stakeholders of the bioeconomy. In addition, different visions of the future will be developed co-creatively, prepared for the interested public and made visible via different (social) media.
