Transformation Roadmap Digitalization and Sustainability

Wuppertal Institut für Klima, Umwelt, Energie gGmbH
Overview
To this end, the project builds on the debates on the ambivalent relationship between digitalization and sustainability as well as on the current state of knowledge in relevant subject areas. In up to ten research lines, central aspects for an environmental policy to shape the digital transformation will be examined in greater depth. The high innovation dynamics of digitalization and its rapid diffusion into the economy and society requires new formats and a strategic orientation of research and science organization. In order to achieve this, the project develops innovative approaches to collaborative research and exploration of new subject areas. At the core of this is the targeted integration of a large number of relevant stakeholders and knowledge carriers into a dynamic research network. In this way, the project generates insights into existing issues and at the same time can flexibly take up current developments.
