Stakeholder Panel
Method description
In many cases, it has proven to be politically prudent and, in the medium to long term, technically and objectively sensible to involve relevant stakeholders in information and decision-making processes at an early stage for open but also controversial issues. By taking the various perspectives into account, it is possible to develop better adapted social design goals and solutions that are better legitimised in the further course of the process, meet with greater acceptance and in some cases even mobilise participation in implementation measures. Against this background, the IZT designs stakeholder participation processes that are adapted to the specific starting situation in terms of the level of participation and the participation methods used. A central component of the IZT's work is the establishment of the Stakeholder Panel TA (TA = Technology Assessment). The aim of the TA Stakeholder Panel is to initiate dialogue processes on the future needs of scientific and technological developments and to incorporate the views of different social groups into the work of the TAB (Office of Technology Assessment at the German Bundestag).
