Review of the final digital conference

The final event of the EmPowerPlan project marked the official conclusion of the project and was organised as a nationwide online conference. The aim was to inform stakeholders from the field of regional planning about the project results developed together with the Oderland-Spree region around the StEmp tool. The main focus was on the potential of the tool to promote dialogue and transparency in the regional planning of renewable energies as well as issues relating to fairness in the expansion of renewable energies.
Around 40 participants from regional planning communities and regional associations, municipalities, state and federal institutions in the field of climate and energy, science and individual representatives of municipal consultancies, industry associations and renewable energy companies came together to gain insights into the results of the project. Technical impulses on the tool and aspects of justice were followed by corresponding in-depth sessions. The motivation, experiences and perspectives of the Oderland-Spree regional planning centre, which actively supported the project as a practice partner, as well as the final discussion of the project results in the plenary framed the content sessions.
We would like to thank the participants for their interest and participation in the final conference.
We would like to take this opportunity to express our sincere thanks to the Regional Planning Centre of the Oderland Spree Regional Planning Community - and in particular to Wolfang Rump (Head of the Regional Planning Centre) and André Schwietzke (Regional Energy Manager) - who made the project possible in the first place as a practical partner: We thank you for the inspiring collaboration and the many valuable impulses you have contributed over the past 18 months. We wish you much success and impact in your practice for the future use of the StEmp tool.
