Educational institutions have a particular climate protection potential: as a rule, CO2 can be saved. At the same time, the project transports important learning contents around the topic of sustainability into the school and through the pupils back to the outside.

The project will initially be carried out in a pilot phase at four schools. Subsequently, another 40 schools will be involved and accompanied in the process. In the course of the project, the school operation will be assessed with regard to its emissions in terms of Energy, food, mobility and procurement The data is collected together with the students. In this way, the necessary data is determined in cooperation. Proposals for measures are developed on the basis of this data. The democratic decision-making process for prioritising and implementing the measures then takes place via a "citizens' report". will take place. It is expected that through the active participation of a random selection of students in the climate protection decisions the acceptance of the measures is increased and democracy building is strengthened.
